1. Responsible developer and scope
NavDown is a media download manager with an integrated browser for Android. The responsible developer is Davi Santos da Silva, who uses Studio MWD as a public-facing name.
This policy describes the app and these informational pages. The practices of websites you visit, search engines, external apps and system services are also described in their respective providers' policies.
NavDown does not require its own registration or offer history or file synchronization through a developer account. Accounts used on websites belong to those services.
2. Data used by the app
The app accesses and stores information to provide the features you use. Local storage does not prevent a connection to a website from transmitting the data needed for that access.
| Information | Use | Storage or recipient |
|---|---|---|
| Browsing and bookmarks | Addresses, titles, history, bookmarks and icons help you reopen pages and organize browsing. | Local data in the profile you use; websites receive requests made to them. |
| Cookies and website data | Cookies, sessions, cache and page storage support sign-in, preferences and website functionality. | Browser storage on your device and communication with the corresponding websites. |
| Detected content and downloads | Source address, name, type, size, destination, progress and resume data enable file detection, downloading, playback and management. Cookies and session headers may be used to access authenticated resources. | Local records and content servers; normal files in the selected destination and private files in the internal vault. |
| Settings and profile protection | Appearance, search, detection and download preferences; cryptographic data derived from the password protects access to the private profile. | Local storage. The private profile password is not sent to the developer. |
| Location requests | An HTTPS website may request your approximate or precise location. Access requires permission for that website and the corresponding Android permission. | The authorized website receives location through the browser. Your allow or block decision can be saved separately in each profile. The developer does not receive a copy of your coordinates. Websites may also estimate your region from your IP address. |
| Online search suggestions | When enabled in the normal profile, eligible text you type in the address bar is sent to the selected search provider to retrieve suggestions before you submit a search. | The search provider receives the query, IP address and request information. These requests do not include WebView cookies or your complete history. Online suggestions are disabled in the private profile. |
| Website notifications | Authorized websites can display notifications while their documents remain active in the normal profile. Site decisions and notification text support this feature. | Permissions are stored locally; Android displays the notification. Site notifications are blocked in the private profile. This feature does not provide background Web Push when the app is closed. |
| Form filling | Depending on your settings, the normal profile may use the Android autofill service to help fill in forms. | Processing by the autofill service selected in your system settings. This feature is disabled in the private profile. |
| Advertising and privacy choices | Ads use technical data and your privacy choices. A local timestamp limits interstitial frequency. | Local settings and Google AdMob / User Messaging Platform (UMP), as explained below. |
| Selected files and exports | Importing or exporting bookmarks and lists in the normal profile, uploading a selected file to a website or opening a download in another app. | A location you choose, the receiving website or the external app you open. |
| Contact with the developer | Responding to questions, support requests and privacy inquiries using the email address and information you provide. | The responsible developer's mailbox and the services needed to receive and reply to the message. |
The app integrates Google AdMob for advertising and UMP for privacy messages. It does not integrate a separate usage analytics or automatic crash reporting service. The advertising SDK still performs measurement and collects diagnostics. Websites opened in the browser may contain their own advertising, trackers or analytics tools.
3. Connections to websites and services
- Browsing and downloads: websites, media servers and their providers may receive your IP address, the requested address, browser information, cookies and headers needed for the request. Forms and sign-in pages send the information you enter to the recipient.
- Searches: the search terms you enter are sent to the engine selected in your settings, such as Google, DuckDuckGo, Startpage, Bing, Baidu or a custom address.
- Online suggestions: when enabled in the normal profile, text eligible for suggestions is sent while you type to a supported provider selected in your search settings. You can disable online suggestions in the browser settings. Custom search engines do not have a configured suggestion endpoint.
- Content detection: identifying and checking files may generate additional requests to content servers, including requests to check type and size or recover a download address.
- Bookmark icons: fetching or updating an icon may generate a connection to the bookmarked website.
- Reading mode: when you configure a token and use the Readability integration, the page address and token are sent to the service to attempt to retrieve reading content.
- Opening and sharing: when you open another app, it receives the address or file access needed for the action you choose and handles that information under its own policy.
These recipients may operate in other countries. Browsing does not make the NavDown developer responsible for those services' data processing decisions. Consult the policies of the website and search engine you use, including their retention and international transfer practices.
The app does not transmit your complete history, bookmarks or vault files to a database operated by the developer. When contacting us, send only the necessary information and avoid including passwords, tokens or private content.
3a. Advertising and consent
NavDown uses Google AdMob to display full-screen interstitial ads at pauses between app screens or completed actions, with a maximum of one interstitial per hour. An ad may also appear in the normal profile before you enter the private profile, subject to the same consent and frequency limits. If no ad is ready, entry continues immediately. Viewing or clicking an ad is not required to start, queue or complete downloads. NavDown does not request or display interstitials on the private profile's access screen or within that profile.
Advertising is part of the normal profile; NavDown does not provide a switch to disable all ads. Before requesting ads, Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) checks privacy requirements and presents the regional message when required. This involves a connection to Google. The app requests ads only when UMP permits them and respects the privacy signals it provides. Reading this policy or accepting the terms does not replace consent where required.
Google's advertising SDK may collect and share the device's IP address (which can estimate approximate location), app and ad interactions, performance diagnostics, Android advertising ID, app set ID and, where applicable, other device or account identifiers. Google uses these for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention. AdMob does not need the location permission to estimate a region from an IP address. Its SDK traffic uses TLS encryption.
NavDown requests non-personalized ads. The app does not supply browsing addresses, search text, page content, download names or contents, website login details or vault files to AdMob as advertising targeting signals. Non-personalized ads may still use technical information, including approximate region, and process identifiers for measurement, frequency control and fraud prevention. This setting does not replace the applicable consent requirements or mean that no data is processed.
When required, Settings → Privacy lets you review and change your regional advertising choices. Refusing a purpose does not necessarily remove every ad: Google may attempt to serve eligible limited ads under the applicable privacy signals. Ad availability is not guaranteed. Changing choices does not erase data already processed by Google. Android settings also let you manage the advertising ID.
Google and its advertising partners may process data outside your country. Their retention, privacy controls and rights procedures are described in the Google Privacy Policy and Google's explanation of data use on partner services. The consent message identifies the partners and choices applicable to your region.
4. Permissions and controls
- Internet and connection status: used to load pages, check the network and perform transfers.
- Location: HTTPS sites must be authorized before accessing your location. Android also requires its location permission, which may limit accuracy. You can block requests, remove saved site decisions, disable the browser setting and manage permissions in Android. Private-profile site decisions remain separate from the normal profile.
- Notifications: used to display download progress and controls, and notifications from authorized active websites in the normal profile. Website notifications require site authorization and the Android notification permission where applicable. You can revoke site decisions in NavDown and change the app permission in Android settings.
- Storage: on older Android versions, read and write permissions provide access to the necessary files. On recent versions, the app uses system storage mechanisms and file pickers.
- Download execution: transfer tasks and temporarily keeping the device awake help continue downloads you start, subject to system limits.
You can adjust cookie, location, content detection, download and advertising settings in NavDown. Denying a permission may limit the corresponding feature. An Android permission enables technical access; it does not provide blanket authorization for purposes other than those described here.
5. Private profile and security
The private profile, available on Android 9 and later, requires a password and keeps your browsing separate from the normal profile. History, bookmarks, preferences and files managed by the vault use encrypted internal storage. Private downloads are viewed within NavDown and are not published in the public gallery or downloads folder.
Cookies, cache and other data persisted by the WebView browsing component are kept in a separate directory. This directory is not automatically encrypted with the vault password. Locking the session or leaving the profile does not delete all of its data.
By default, private downloads that have already started may continue after locking. You can change this behavior in the private profile settings. During these transfers, the key needed for downloading remains temporarily in the app's memory while access to the profile interface stays locked.
Private notifications hide details by default. If you choose to display names and progress, this information may appear in system notifications, including on the lock screen depending on your settings.
The private profile does not work as a VPN, hide your IP address from websites or your connection provider, or prevent a website from recognizing an account you have signed in to. No measure provides absolute security, particularly on compromised devices or devices with privileged access.
HTTPS connections use the protection provided by that protocol. The browser also allows HTTP addresses, whose data does not have the same protection in transit. Prefer HTTPS when sending personal information.
The developer cannot recover the private profile password. Deleting and resetting the profile removes its associated data and does not recover previous content. Keep your password safe.
6. Storage, backups and deletion
Browsing data and settings remain on your device while needed for use or until you delete them through the available controls. Download records may be retained to organize files and resume transfers. Closing a tab or locking the private profile does not automatically delete history, cookies or files.
- Use NavDown's history and data clearing options to remove the available categories in the corresponding profile.
- You can configure categories to be cleared on exit. This applies to the selected categories and does not delete information held by the Android autofill service.
- Deleting an entry from the download list and deleting the file are different actions. Check the option shown before confirming.
- Files downloaded to public folders or exported may remain on the device after clearing app data or uninstalling the app. Delete them from their saved location as well if you wish.
- Deleting the private profile removes its vault and browsing data. Clearing app data or uninstalling the app removes its internal storage, including private files.
Depending on your Android version and settings, normal profile data, such as preferences, history, bookmarks and website data, may be included in cloud backups or device transfers. The vault and private WebView directory are excluded from the app's backup rules. Also manage backups in your system settings; deleting a local copy does not necessarily remove a copy already held by the backup service.
Messages sent to the responsible developer are kept for as long as needed to respond, follow up on the request, comply with legal obligations or exercise legal rights. You may request deletion where applicable. Data held by visited websites, external apps and backup services follows those providers' rules.
7. Purposes and legal bases for processing
Processing needed to provide browsing, downloads and local organization supports the features you request. Support and privacy requests are processed to provide assistance and meet applicable obligations.
Advertising supports the app and involves ad delivery, measurement and fraud prevention. Consent and regional privacy choices are managed separately from core features and may be changed through the controls described in the advertising section.
Where applicable, we rely on the legal bases set out in the Brazilian General Personal Data Protection Law (LGPD), such as performance of the service relationship for requested features, compliance with legal obligations and the exercise of legal rights. Processing that requires consent must have a specific purpose and allow consent to be withdrawn. Accepting terms of use does not replace that consent.
8. Your rights
Where provided by the LGPD, you may request confirmation of processing and access to your data, correction, information about sharing, anonymization, blocking or deletion, portability in accordance with regulations, and withdrawal of consent. You may also challenge unlawful processing and submit a complaint to the competent authority.
Send your request to navdown@studiomwd.com. We may request proportionate information to verify your identity and protect your data. We will explain any applicable limitations and legal retention requirements.
The developer has no remote access to content stored on your device or to your vault password. Deleting that local data therefore requires the app's and Android's controls. For data processed directly by Google AdMob, a website, search engine or external app, also use the corresponding provider's privacy controls and rights procedures.
9. Children and adolescents
NavDown is a general-purpose browsing and download tool. Use by children and adolescents must comply with the law, content ratings and guidance from their parents or guardians. Visited websites may have their own age and content restrictions.
Processing children's and adolescents' data must respect their best interests and applicable legal requirements. Parents or guardians may use the contact below to raise questions or request action regarding data sent to the developer.
10. This website
These pages are informational and do not include registration forms, first-party cookies, analytics scripts, advertising or embedded third-party content. Opening an external link takes you to the indicated service; email links use your email app.
When pages are accessed through a hosting server, it may receive technical request data, such as IP address, date and time, requested page and browser identification, to deliver content and maintain security. This processing depends on the hosting provider and configuration used.
11. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the app or applicable obligations. The update date will appear at the top of the page. Changes requiring new information or consent must be presented appropriately before the corresponding processing takes place.
